If it hasn’t ever had an ice maker hooked up the valve may not be present. When you get an ice maker kit, it’s the unit and the valve and bracket. Every fridge I can think of has the valve located towards the bottom sometimes close to the floor sometimes a foot up. On most fridges you can look at the back at about freezer higth, you’ll see a small plastic line, follow it to the solenoid valve.

The igniter can sometimes fool you. If it is weak it will glow but will not allow for the safety valve to open. If it is real dull orange or takes longer than 2 minutes to light or needs a swift kick to get going then replace the igniter. Here is a better explanation with movies, manuals, and more:

have you tried frigidaire website? if so, search yahoo for appliance repair website, several of them, like appliance bandaid or something or appliance repair etc, geared towards do-it-yourselfer.might help, sometimes the owners manual will have it in there.just know that all jets have to be changed since lp uses almost twice as much head pressure.this includes supply jet and pilot jets, and also you may have to change air mix (pretty sure)

It qouldn’t be the belt. It almost sounds like it is over filling with water. And possible a motor or transmission problem.

If it is over 5 years old, it is not worth fixing as they are only built to last about 7 – 10 years and in my opinion, Amana is not a good brand of washer to begin with.

What is the best brand? Right now there really aren’t any, but some are easier to repair than others. Stick with Whirlpool, this brand is the most common, so parts are cheap.
