This shrimp sandwich recipe is so easy to make! Buttered Frech buns filled with crunchy and delicious breaded shrimp, crisp lettuce and cabbage and drizzled with thick and rich ketchup. Shrimp po’ boys are one of my favorite sandwiches and I always order them at restaurants so I thought I would experiment a bit at home and make my own version of a shrimp sandwich.

Although I got the inspiration from shrimp po’ boys in my version of the breaded shrimp sandwich, I replaced the remoulade sauce for ketchup. I love breaded shrimp dipped in thick, tangy and sweet ketchup and I already know that breaded shrimp and ketchup are a match made in heaven.

I wanted a super quick meal solution. Something I could make in minutes and that was still delicious and drool-worthy. That is how I came up with this quick and simple, yet delicious breaded shrimp sandwich version.

Because the ketchup is the star condiment on these sandwiches it was important to use the best ketchup. I’ve always been a fan of Hunt’s ketchup but have you tried Hunt’s Best Ever Ketchup? Hunt’s Best Ever Ketchup is Hunt’s thickest, richest, best ever ketchup. You can really see and taste the difference! This is now my go-to ketchup.

Easy Shrimp Po’Boy Sandwich Recipe

Instructions

  • Hunt’s Best Ever Ketchup
  • breaded shrimp or breaded popcorn shrimp (storebought)
  • tomato, thinly sliced
  • lettuce, shredded
  • cabbage, shredded
  • butter, melted
  • Frech buns

Directions

  • Prepare the breaded shrimp according to directions on the box.
  • While the shrimp are in the oven slice the buns and place in the oven until golden brown. Spread melted butter on both sides of the bun.
  • Start by adding a layer of lettuce and cabbage, then top with the tomato slices. Arrange the breaded shrimp on top of the tomato and drizzle with Hunt’s Best Ever Ketchup.

I got all of my ingredients and Hunt’s Best Ever Ketchup at Walmart. I love how convenient shopping at Walmart is. You can shop in store, or have your groceries brought to your car via their Online Grocery Service.
