Sundays seem to be my day of choice for bread baking. After we go to church we stay home for the rest of the day. It truly is a day of rest from the busyness and cares of the rest of the week. One of my favorite things to do is spend some time in my kitchen making a big mess. You see, at our house, dad always does the dishes on Sunday so I like to take full advantage and cook up a storm.

I love to cook but I especially love to cook when I don’t have to clean up the mess. Some type of homemade bread or roll is usually part of the Sunday dinner menu and these garlic cheese rolls are so good they have been on repeat at our house.

Tips and Tricks

  • Be sure you’ve got plenty of flour on your counter to keep that dough from sticking when you go to roll it up.
  • Switch up your seasoning and cheese. You can use fresh herbs or dry herbs. If using fresh herbs, use twice the amount called for in the recipe.
  • Make smaller rolls by rolling your dough out larger and then cut them smaller.

I wish I had a counter like yours. My is tile so I always have a hard time rolling out large things. Any suggestions? Those rolls look SO yummy!

Couple of options – you could buy a marble or granite slab that you could use. Also a large silpat would also work. I think they come in different sizes.

Silpat makes a “roll-pat”. That’s what I use on my tile. It works great. I think I got it at an actual DeMarle party, but I’m sure you could order it on-line.
